Badminton Victoria has released this statement:
Covid Update
Overnight, the Premier announced some new Covid19 restrictions:
From 11:59pm on Wednesday 3 February 2021 new restrictions apply in Victoria:
• The limit of people gathering in the home will be reduced to 15 from 30.
• Face masks are mandatory in public indoor spaces. If you leave home, take a face mask and wear it any time you are inside, apart from when you’re eating or drinking.
• The 75 per cent ‘return to work’ cap in both public and private sectors scheduled for Monday 8 February are paused and the current cap of 50 per cent will remain in place.
As of today (3pm, 4th February), we have not been advised of any additional restrictions that would impact on our sport. The facemask guidelines when playing sport are as follows:
You do not need to wear a face mask when exercising outdoors or indoors. It is recommended that you wear a face mask when you are indoors, and you cannot keep 1.5 metres distance from others.
If we are advised of any change to this, we will let you know as soon as possible.
